Investing in our Future!
Heritage Estates helped send two of its employees to the National Student Nurses’ Association Convention held in Nashville, Tennessee. Both are medication aides currently pursuing their BSN, RN through the University of Nebraska Medical Center at the Scottsbluff campus.
Jenna Meyer is the Secretary of the local chapter and helps with many aspects of the local chapter.
Ben Garcia currently serves as Communications Editor on the State Board as well as co-chair of the newly formed Resolutions Committee at the local level. He earned his American Red Cross certification in Sheltering and Disaster Health while attending. Ben also served as a delegate at the National Convention.
Through this experience, they had the opportunity to participate in a variety of focus sessions geared toward specific interests in nursing. These future nurses gained new insight about the changing nursing field and were challenged to make a difference as they strive to become positive role models.
Keynote speaker, Gloria Ferraro Donnelly, PhD, RN, FAAN stated, “You are in charge of Nursing’s future! Do something, try something, fix something. Get hooked on problem solving. Remember that even “chaotic action” is always preferable to neat and orderly inaction. Experiment with your ideas and make a difference!”
